Lauren will sing 2 groups of songs and she will sing 2 items with the Needwood Singers. One item is Laudate Dominum by Mozart and another is Blow The Wind Southerly specially arranged by John Foster. The Needwood Singers are from Barton under Needwood in Staffordshire. They are conducted by Margaret Lanford, a professional singer who is a member of Ex Cathedra, a choir who feature regularly on Classic FM and BBC3. The concert will be shared between church funds and 'United For Alex', the charity set up by the alternative Manchester United Team and supporters. Alex is the grandson of Margaret Langford and his mum is Joan Fosters god-daughter. Alex has severe cerebral palsy and needs a special modified electric wheelchair. Several thousand pounds have already been raised towards the purchase of the wheelchair and half the proceeds of this concert will be contributed to this worthwhile project.
